May 14/ day 25.
Our first offical full day in Hiroshima, we went to Miyajima (its a little island about 10 min ferry ride from mainland) in search of a flame that is said to be burning for 1200 years. Today there will be many picture, because Miyajima is just beautiful!

Marie came to Miyajima once during her elementary school days, on a school excursion. It was my first time to be here!

Being an animal lover I was looking forward to seeing some deer!

Here is Miyajima's trademark "Tori". Durning low tide you can walk right under it.

We found some deer! There were not afraid of people at all, sooo cute!

So, this rope way will take us to the top of the mountain where the eternal flame waits....

The view from up there was breathtaking! If it was a clear day, they say you can see all the way to Shikoku.

When arriving at the top we were happy to find many monkey's running around everywhere! The little babies were soo cute.

It was about a 10 or 15min hike up the mountain, then, we reached, the Eternal, FLAME!

There was a peaceful feeling in that place, even the though the fire was very small.

We recieved power for our jouney!

Using the Eternal flame to light this candel we prayed for our safty on the road.

We found it hard to leave that peaceful place and wondered around too see more.
The Momiji leaves would look beautiful in the autum.

The tide begins to rise, and we reolize the time! We must leave now....

Could this possibly be the largest rice paddle in the world??!

Today's busking location was in front of the station. Everyone was very kind and gave donations. Thank you so much !
