７月８日 志津川〜大船渡

地図を見て、今日の目的地を決めます。今日は地震があった岩手県の大船渡市にある太陽学園と言う孤児院に行き、子供と交流しようとの予定。

July 8/ day 80.

We look at our map and decide our destination for today.  Today we will ride to Iwate prefecture, which recently had an earthquake. Our destination is Oofunato city. There we will go to an orphanage called "Taiyougakuen" where we will spend the night, and meet the children. 
今日の朝ご飯は卵掛けごはん！食べてたら。。。

Breakfast today is raw eggs and rice! 

小学生の生徒が公園に遊びにきてました。朝からみんなすごく元気に走り回ってました。

As we were eating, the park filled with cute little kids, full and energy and having fun playing in the park. 
いよいよ出発！でもこれからは山越えが待っていました。上り下りが沢山！！今日中に着くかな？！

We hit the road, and are in for a full day of mountains.  I hope we make it to our destination today.... 
昼ご飯を食べてたら、こんな不思議な見たことの無い虫を発見しました！すぐとなりには脱皮した後が。お尻に、三本の長い毛が生えてて、透明で、不思議な顔をしてました。。。

We stop for lunch, when we find this strange creature!  It had just come out of a hard body shell, and the tail part of it split into three separate tails when it was bothered. None of us has ever seen this creature.  Could it be a new species?? 
昼ご飯が終われば、また山が待っている。長い登りを終えた後は綺麗な景色と長い下りが待っている（＾０＾）でも。。。その先にはまた長い登りが待っているんだぁ（；。；）

More mountains awaited us after lunch. But the best part about going up was the view from the top, and the ride down! But then, it goes back to up.... 
岩手県に突入！！すごくしんどくなって来てたので、もうすぐ大船渡って考えるとうれしい！！

We enter Iwate prefecture at last!!  By this time we are all very tired, so I hope Oofunato is not much farther...
と、思ったのもつかの間。急勾配、急カーブ、しかも３KMも！！！

when we see this sign....  Its pretty much saying,  " you guys are in for a tough ride" 3km of up hill and windy roads...
上っても、上っても、つつ”く坂道。

It felt like the never ending up hill... 
大船渡市に着いた！！目的地の太陽学園まであと少し。

Finally, we arrive to Oofunato!!!  Just a little farther to the orphanage. 
坂道を上りきって、後ろを見たら山のてっぺんがどこまでも広がっていました！「これを越えて来たんだ。。。」って考えるとゾッとします。この先に山道が無いことを祈るばかり。

When reaching the top of the mountain, I look back and am a surprised that we road all of these mountains...  We all pray that there will be no more mountainous roads from now. 
やっと出て来た青森県の標識。３４８KMだ！！北海道にどんどんちかつ”いて来たよぉ！！

We see a sign for Aomori !! 348 Km!! We are getting closer to Hokkaido!! 
太陽学園の近くで健太とお別れ。今までありがとうね（＞。＜）！！すごく楽しかったです！またいつかどこかで。。

As we get nearing to Taiyougakuen orphanage, we say goodbye to Kenta!  Thanks for everything Kenta, it was fun traveling with you, we hope to see you again someday. 

太陽学園に着くために上らないと行けない坂道。最後の力を振り絞ってやっと着くと、とっても暖かく迎えてくれました！！お風呂と御飯も準備をしてくれていました！！ありがとうございます！！！！

We had to ride up one more nasty hill to reach the orphanage, but when we got there we were warmly welcomed. They had prepared dinner and a hot bath for us. Thank you so much! 
御飯を食べ終えると、子供たちが待っていました。みんなを集め風船の作り方をを教えたりして遊びました。

After supper, we met with some of the children. We taught them how to make balloon animals. 
スマトラの孤児院のためにポストカードに絵を描いてもらいました。ブレスレットと同じく、路上ライブをする時に出して、売り上げを募金にまわします。

The children draw pictures on post cards that we brought. We will sell them when we busk for the orphans in Sumatra. Thanks kids! 
次ぎに、私が大きな風船を作り、それを当てた子にプレゼントすることに。みんなすごくはりきって手を挙げ、当てました。英語でも上手に言えてて、ビックリ！

Next, I make a BIG balloon, and the kid who guesses what I'm making can have the balloon. They all participate in the game and some even answer in english!!! Good job! 
最後に２曲、子供たちの為に歌を歌いました。皆さん、聞いてくれてありがとうございました！

Lastly, we sing two songs for the kids. Thank you all for listening! 
恥ずかしがって映らない子がいたが、最後に何人かで記念撮影。楽しかったです！！みんなありがとうね！

Before saying goodnight, we take a picture with the orphans. Some were a bit shy and didn't get in the picture, but we had a good time. Thanks everyone!
