The first day arriving in Medan, we got on a Becak(like a tuk tuk) and Anca took us to visit the orphanage.
This is the back yard that was full of garbage...
We pulled into the drive way and it was horrible...
Real muddy and difficult to drive on..
To the left of the enterance is unused buildings that haven't been touched in years.
There was no roofs on it and grass growing inside.
One of the unused broken down buildings.
Inside.
Marie infront of the toilets.
The toilet.
They had a well so I looked inside and it was so dirty... I mentioned that if we can fix it, it would be useful... The answer I got was "we use that for taking showers, and the toilet, etc..."

We met the orphanage direccter and had our first meeting about what needs to be done. About the renovation and about an education program. We also talked about taking the kids to lake Toba for a weekend.
What we learned after being here for a few days is, to do a project in Indonesia takes a long time. They are the sweetest most chilled out people.
For next week, we talked about what needs to be fixed and how much it would cost.
